Vivarta
Vivarta is an independent student group of IIT Madras that powers the broader initiative Project Climate.
Our goals are to
create scientific awareness towards climate change amongst the Indian public, especially the youth.
understand the impacts on our society quantitatively.
disseminate information about currently available sustainable adaptation strategies for climate change.
In the process, we would like to create a multimodal climate repository for India-centric climate knowledge and resources. It includes research articles, data visualisations, educational tools, and regional case studies, making climate science accessible and engaging for everyone, from general public to researchers.
Vivarta seeks to build awareness and inspire action by providing clear, relevant insights on India’s unique climate challenges and solutions.
What are the verticals in Vivarta?
Vivarta has the following five key verticals, each with a unique role in driving our mission forward:
WebOps – Develop and maintain Vivarta’s online presence through our website, ensuring smooth access to resources, updates, and events.
Media, Design and PR – Create impactful content (videos, graphics, articles) to educate and engage our audience on climate issues and Vivarta’s initiatives and build Vivarta’s visual identity and manage public outreach, crafting eye-catching visuals and messages that capture attention.
Events – Organize workshops, talks, screenings, and other interactive activities to raise climate awareness and encourage action.
Sci and Tech Findings – Conduct research and gather scientific insights to drive informed discussions and back Vivarta’s initiatives with solid evidence.
Each vertical works together to amplify Vivarta’s mission of inspiring climate action!
